Oh the sprint, so simple, yet so hard. Think about it, the longest anyone took for one was 40 seconds, the shortest around 21, and nobody finished their 4 thinking they got off with an easy day. These will be recurring, especially as the weather improves.
We also got acquainted with box squats for the first time today. These will also be occurring again soon. The point of the box is that when you rest on it, your muscles have a chance to relax, thereby loosing the tightness they earned on the way down. They’re like a spring that looses its stretch. We often coach you to harness the natural elasticity of the muscles by “bouncing” out of the bottom. The box squat negates that and demands that you lift the weight with just the contraction of those driving muscles.
Is one better than the other? Not necessarily, its just a different stimulus. Both have a place in a program like ours.
