Sushi

Josh L future SEAL
In the Orthodox Christian liturgy, there is a short prayer which goes, “Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy.” If, at some point during the second round, you find yourself saying this prayer, I fully understand. Today’s workout was a religious experience.
You know it’s rough when burpee-pull-ups are the easy part.

Burpee-Pull-ups
Thruster-Back Thruster (95/65)
Do a Thruster then lower the bar to your back, squat and press it overhead at the top. When arms lockout after the back squat the rep is finished.
It became clear early on that this one was special and people started asking me what the name is. My first thought was “Sushi” because that’s how I felt afterward, but I put a box on the board and let people add their own suggestions. My favorite was Pastor Rob’s “Frusterthuck” which was inspired by Leon’s previous unmentionable suggestion.
A couple of notable firsts today as Charles, Rita and Chase got their Muscle-ups. This was Chase’s first introduction to Muscle-ups and he got it on his third attempt. Seriously, beware of that guy, he knows how to push himself. Give him a couple of months and he’ll have the green box.
Today we also say good-bye to Josh L. who will be heading off to BUD/S. Josh will make a great SEAL and we are proud to have shared a gym with him. He is amazingly strong, fast, and always comes in with a smile. We look forward to hearing from him in the future.
