Is anyone else sore?

Matt G., Galen, John Lu. in the various stages of the overhead squats- top, bottom, and recovering
It’s kind of a silly question. I mean, when are we not? But in the last two days we’ve done a lot of squatting. Today we did what I think are one of the hardest movements we do- the overhead squat. It requires tons of strength, balance, and flexibility just to move through the full range properly, nevermind doing it with a challenging weight 90 times while on the clock.
Still, I am pleased and impressed with our continued progress. Not everyone can do them yet, but a majority can, and the rest are getting better.
Today’s workout was one of three done last weekend at Southern California’s Regional Qualifier. The top time in our gym was Pat S. which would have earned him 16th place. The comparison isn’t perfect. Our course was a little short and we didn’t have to do it in 100 degree weather. Then again, doing a workout in the context of a competition where there are literally dozens of competitors around you and hundreds shouting and encouraging you will make you much faster.
Tomorrow will be fun(ky) with only a few back squats for strength work beforehand. We won’t squat for the rest of the week, except maybe Saturday.
Halfway through erasing the board tonight, I realized I forgot to take a picture of it. Oh well, I have it in the gym notebook if anyone wants to see their time.

this workout was nasty. but this workout following yesterday’s frusterthuck was just plain wrong. 180 squats in two days. so wrong.
i like overhead squats because there isn’t any way to cheat. minor faults are revealed very quickly. never thought I would look forward to a 450 meter run but it was good to get away from the squats.
