Grizzly Bite Vaccine
Yesterday 12 people came in during the whole afternoon. I thought it was the heat, but today was so much hotter and yet more people came, I guess Karen was responsible for keeping you away. The temperature got up to 99.9 degrees by 5:30, the hottest hour, but I think that was still cooler than the great outdoors.
The met-con was something of a smoker, more so than I anticipated, but not too bad. The twisting lunges were an experiment. We don’t incorporate a whole lot of twisting movements into our workouts and this was one I’d seen elsewhere. They weren’t bad, but I doubt anyone will be especially sore because of them, and they did seem to decrease the intensity of the workout as a whole. Not bad, but I know of better options for twisting.
So I’ve got an idea, but I want to hear some feedback before I start. CF Seattle did a “Spring Leaning Challenge” a couple months ago that I thought was interesting. Participants took 3 pictures of themselves shirtless (guys) or with a sports bra (not guys) from the front, side, and back. They each put in $30. Then they had a class where they taught about the Zone/Paleo diet plans. After that, everyone kept a food journal which they emailed to the group every week. 7 weeks later the trainers selected their choices for the top 5 participants. Then everyone voted on who made the most improvements. The winner received the pot plus one free month of unlimited classes. The runner-up received one free month.
What do you think? Would you participate in this? Would you want to change something about it? Weigh in with your ever-valuable opinions.

I would be in but I think you should let guys wear sports bras if they’d like. Let’s not be sexist here.
I know Karen is kind of scary but I think I prefer these workouts where some strategic resting is involved.
I set a start number then tried to go with a rhythm for the rest of it (5 breaths-10 wallballs). your technique does make a difference because a slip in catching the ball will dent your face or throw you off or both.
Afterwards, I was still breathing like a congested hippo but was very pleased with my time.
By the way, I like the new old web look. One request: Could you add the recent comments section in the side panel with the latest 10-15 comments?
I think a challenge like that would be great. I’m in!
I think that sounds like a good idea. Then I would have some incentive to work on the diet – Already on day 4 without a coca-cola!
I would be in for this challenge as well (are before pictures going on the web site?).
Ooh! Can I join? I bet I will lose the most weight! My pictures will show a dramatic change!
I already have a free membership though…
Sounds really great–I’d do it. Can the guys wear sports bras too?
Be back tomorrow guys–been sick this week.
I agree with Kristin the guys should wear sports bras. I like that plan.
Im in.. but only if I can wear the sports bra
Um, I think you’re all missing the point. However, I’ll try to have one available for you tomorrow Dave.
Rob- recent comments are now available.
We talked about the nutrition challenge at the staff meeting and Leon and Amy had some good input which I will follow up on in the next couple days. On a related note, if you’re ever interested in running a business I recommend that you hire people smarter than you and listen to them.
Haha, I think I may take tomorow off….
The training for my “before” picture has already begun. Oh, does it have to be a sports bra? I don’t have one that would match my flesh colored grape smugglers.
Flesh colored grape smugglers?
In fact, never mind I don’t want to know.
I had no idea what grape smugglers are so I did what I always do. Googled it. Leon is definitely funny. I now have some new urban language to use when Jason decides to wear his speedos to the beach. no-homo.
That would be fun and I always need more motivation!
