We almost never practice strict pull-ups so I was interested in seeing how many people could do today.  I’m curious, what is your ratio of max kipping to max strict pull-ups?  Mine was about 2 to 1.  Did that hold true for everyone else?

It was nice to do some strength work today.  It’s been a little while since we’ve had heavy deadlifts be the focus.  There’ll be some more strength days later this week.  I’m looking forward to it.

    Im not sure about the kipping pull ups. I dont think I could get 40 (double strict) with the kip. It seems i lose technique after about eighteen (kips) and start flailing all over the place. Seeing my posture in the backround of todays pic I wonder..will I ever be able to straighten my arms?

    I grew up on the dead hang pull up. The kip is still a relatively new movement for me. I will be working on the kipping swing and pushing away at the top.

    I feel a little different about the strict pull up. I was never able to do any pull-ups prior to CF, so the kip was a very helpful thing to work on building thoes muscles. That being said my ratio is closer to 4 to 1. Witch I feel is a positive testament to the kips function.
