I’ve always enjoyed weighted pull ups.  It’s comforting to know that I could do a pull up on every planet in our solar system except for Jupiter, where I would weigh about 470 lbs.  That may come in handy some day.  Until then, weighted pull ups are just a way to perform better on this planet.  Brianne managed a set of 5 with an extra 12.5 lbs and Leon (hey, that’s me) did 5 with an added 75 lbs.  Many of you are working toward your first strict pull up at body-weight.  A very functional application of strength.  We will hit these again over the next couple of weeks.

There was a bit of a pattern this week.  On each of the strength days we finished with 10 minutes of a singular focus.  Double unders, then rowing, and today we did burpees.  Doing one thing for 10 minutes forces some attention to technique as well as providing a mental challenge.  Brianne and Joseph win today’s prize for being the most mentally challenged.  Brianne did 117 and Joseph did 158 burpees.  I would also like to point out that Rosemary, who is in her 60′s did 70 burpees in 10 minutes.  She is proof that age is just a number.

Lastly, I would like to apologize in advance for tomorrow.  It will be fun though, really.  And there’s breakfast.

Ummmm, im so curious to see what tomorow’s workout is. Im not sure if your “advanced apologies” deter people or bring them in. With me, I always follow the ol saying, “curiousity killed the cat”. Looks like I may die tomorow! Although it is tempting to come in and try and beat Joesph’s 158 burpees and #75 on the pullups……….
