Elizabeth
Cleans are a tough movement to have in a met-con. When you are trying for 45 reps it is challenging to maintain that perfect form. I think the biggest challenge of that movement is stringing multiple reps together, it’s hard to convince yourself you have another one or two in you. Ring dips can be equally frustrating because of how quickly you can reach muscle failure, I saw people all day putting everything they had into pressing and not move an inch. A challenging workout isn’t necessarily a bad thing though, and several people made the wise decision to swallow their pride and scale back the weight in order to focus on better technique. It paid off for some, as minor adjustments made throughout the workout had their cleans looking much cleaner. I don’t know about you guys but I’m excited to try out 1 rep max cleans next week, I’m sensing PR’s all around.
Morgan and Brianne take the top times of the day, and Morgans got the battle scars to prove it. There’s gonna be some fierce competition around here when we have to decide who will represent us at the affiliate cup. Some advice for anyone with ambitions of being on the team, keep those diets clean and don’t drink beer right before your met-con (Tom). One thing is for sure though, those other teams don’t stand a chance.

Dang you dan!! I mean good job buddy! Today was awesome; however, my quads would disagree. Technique is so important with this lift. The last time I did this I had shitty technique and got 12:34 (I was not jumping under the bar). Today with proper-er technique, I got 9:33
I have a love hate relationship with “Elizabeth”. It always sounds like a good idea, but somewhere during the first 21 I think “what the hell am I doing here?” It is a good one, thats for sure. And I second Dave’s motion, form makes the biggest difference. I felt like something clicked during my set of 15 with consistency, they almost became easy.
I thought I was in college again when I decided to have a 16oz beer before doing Elizabeth. I was wrong, not a good thing at all. Remember, a good women loves a clean and sober man. Plus the entimacy is better and extremely intense.
The only reason I drank before the WOD was that I was with a client and I had to take one for the team. Still, it’s no excuse, I’m a bad boy.
Stop being so selfish tom, next time learn to share!
