Once through
Weighted Pull-ups to 1RM followed by 20 Bodyweight Back Squats and 1k Row for time. Or for the challenged: 30 Back Squats at 225 or 165 with a 1k row.
This ends our current progression with weighted pull-ups. Prior to this, I have never really spent time working on them or finding out what I could get up to. Frankly I’ve been surprised at how much weight people have gotten up. Furthermore, several people have gotten their first unassisted strict pull-up. Today’s honors in that category go to Lynn who wasn’t content with her first, but decided to get 1 through 5; and Dani. Leon get’s special mention for doing a pull-up with 125 pounds attached to his body. That is ridiculous. If he gets much higher we’re going to have to assign people to hang on his back while he does them. If Leon was getting chased by a large Rottweiler and he leaped to a hanging fire escape ladder and the Rottweiler chomped onto his leg, he could still get up. How’s that for real-world application?

Does anyone else have a sore butt? Those jumping lunges yesterday coupled with the back squats and row today made walking straight a challenge after the workout. It was especially entertaining to watch people make their way to the rowers after the squats, that is, until I tried it.
I completely agree with Morgan about walking a straight line. I about fell over after putting the bar down after the squats.
This workout looked like it rocked. I’m saving it for a future attempt.
Looking forward to the workout tomorrow. I’ll be at the 12:30 class. If I don’t see you to say goodbye just know I’ll be back to visit.
Rob- You will be missed. I am working and will not see you at the 1200 class, I did however do the WOD at 0530 it was short sweet and sucked a little. It wasn’t as fun as our “Rob’s not feeling it/ Brianne’s hung over WOD” that we did a few months ago however
Good luck on your journeys!
Rob, if I do not make it in tomorow at 1230, I wanted to say it has honestly been a pleasure knowing you. You never failed to put a smile on my face, and you will bless whomever you come into contact with in California. I hope to see you again real soon my friend.
